Welcome to "In Their Words", our brand new classroom author blog! We have read a number of different works by various writers this semester, each with a distinctive writing style and point of view. You will now have the opportunity to take on the persona of one of the writers we have studied and create a blog post in his/her own words.

1. Choose an author/playwright/poet. It should be one we have studied in class.
2. Choose a subject for your blog post. (Examples: respond to a real or fictional review of the writer's work, comment on news/issues of the writer's time, reflect on relevant thematic topics contained in the writer's work(s).) You may wish to do some further research on the writer and the time period in which he/she lived for the purpose of this assignment.
3. Write your post in the words of the author/playwright/poet you have selected.

Blog posts will be assessed on the basis of the appropriateness of writing style, clarity, and creativity. Two sample posts can be found here and here. Have fun, and happy posting!
